New SOBC – Region Six – Regional Coordinator Announcement

As you are all aware, SOBC has been actively looking for a Regional Coordinator to replace Jo Osborne since she stepped down in May. We have gone out to all of the Locals and have looked at not only executive members but long time coaches to fill this position.

I am very pleased to announce that our search is over and Jean Tetarenko has agreed to take on the role of Regional Coordinator for Region Six! Most of you have been working with Jean in her role as Chef de Mission for the Region 6 team to provincial games and may have worked with her on Team BC or in any of the other volunteer positions she has held with SOBC – Victoria.

I must say that as I have worked with Jean on the lead up to the Provincial Games, she has proven to be a tireless worker, very detail oriented and she has worked hard to represent the “island” point of view with regards to Games. We are excited to have her as a member of the Leadership Council and look forward to working with her.

At the upcoming Regional meeting, Michelle will call for a vote of confidence for Jean. Should you have any questions prior to that, Jean, Michelle or myself would be more than happy to take them.

We look forward to Jean carrying on the strong traditional of leadership from this region!
